Starting your own business
... is quite often the best way to earn money and work at home.
Whether you want to hear that or not, it's actually true. If you are already working from home you start to realise just how vulnerable you are to being laid off - and quite often it is the homeworkers' jobs that go first "out of sight, out of mind". As they can't see what you're doing it's easy for an employer to not need you any more!
Starting your own business covers 100 different ways of working and earning! And you won't know which one suits you best or will turn out to be most lucrative for you. So it's always a good idea to pick 2-3 different things and commit to them for a period of 1 year, then after 1 year look at how much effort you've made and which one will make you the most money.
You can then choose to concentrate all your efforts into that one - or, a much better way of doing things is: drop the 3rd/least profitable one and try something new for the next year. This way you are always doing your two top earners and always testing a 3rd to see if that would earn you more money.
The old saying: Don't put all your eggs in one basket wasn't wrong!
This site is full of my links to and fabulous information about home business ideas, so you can work from home starting your own business. These are the ones I've personally identified as being of value or being most likely to earn me money when I next need to find an additional stream of income.
One site I keep an eye out on is http://jobsforhomeworkers.com/ - a site listing lots of freelance jobs for real data entry jobs, virtual assistant jobs etc all on a "per project" basis. And there are no fees to join or get the jobs, which is why I love it so much. I know a LOT of people that have got regular, ongoing work through http://jobsforhomeworkers.com/ so if you're looking for something close to a "proper job working from home", then check it out.
