One great work at home job is being a leaflet distributor. The work is flexible and you can work just in your local area. Leaflet distributors are usually paid on a self-employed basis, pay is based on the number of leaflets you're delivering - sometimes a company will want just their leaflet distributing - and sometimes they'll opt for a cheaper service where they are one of a bunch that are delivered.
How many leaflets you can distribute per hour will depend on your local area, but one study done by a leading leaflet distribution company, tracking nearly 50 of their distributors, found that about 130/hour was the average. With this figure in mind, you can work out how much you might make from being a leaflet distributor - and measure your own performance against this.
At about 130/hour, during a full day of 7-8 hours, you can distribute about 1000 leaflets.
Delivering leaflets is a job that could potentially be combined with other ways to earn money, but you also have to think about the practicalities.
If you are delivering leaflets, your speed will depend on many factors, including:
** Distance between letterboxes
** If you're delivering leaflets in a road or in a tower block
** How you're carrying the leaflets (trolley, rucksack or in your hand) as you might find obstacles (steps) slow you down, or a trolley can speed you up.
** Your own fitness and motivation. If you're fit and motivated you could smash the delivery targets and deliver 2x as many as somebody else might.
** Even the weather will affect how fast you can go, if you're in a tree-lined avenue and it's raining and windy.
